Gatkeepers come in many forms. Gatekeepers are alters who manage headspace and other alters. To my knowledge, there are 4 types; Memory, guard, dormancy, and front. All gatekeepers require a certain amount of power to do things. For some it takes little energy but for others their energy is used easily depending on the task, it depends on the alter and system.

A gatekeeper can be multiple of these types. Some may have only one of these kinds of roles while others may have multiple. It entirely depends on the gatekeeper themself and the system their in.
